Venturing out on the baroque violin in Sweden to perform Bach's Matthew Passion this coming weekend looks both interesting and also respite before the Arts Festival and Royal Wedding take over everyone's lives. The Shipley Arts Festival is it's most advanced and creative for this point in the Season with thoughts of the next few years already planned, and our new Festival manager Johannes is sure to be a huge help. The opening 'Regal Concert for a Royal Occasion' is full of Royal patronage and very difficult notes - and we have a few places left for students to join the String Academy and Yehudi Menuhin School Orchestra plus dancers. All the signs are up and final invites going to all, press releases are being printed in papers, and two concerts nearly sold out (Blue Idol and Lackenhurst) . This afternoon holds two hours final relaxation and Festival planning from my tractor as we cut the grass and think of gaps and additions to musical success leading up to next year. Good luck everyone, and thank you all - the Festival Friends first newsletter is being prepared by Johannes as we speak. Sunday 10th April 2011
